COVID has had an immense impact on our lives over the last two years, especially in regards to interacting with the world “outside the house.” There were obvious, fairly universal examples, such as not going to restaurants, getting groceries delivered, avoiding unnecessary trips to stores, and travel. But one of the less obvious changes that had a profound impact on us was the absence of gallery nights. Closest to home was The Dole, but also the Old Courthouse in Woodstock and even running up to Madison, Wisconsin for spring and fall gallery nights.
The Creative Arts‘ “New Beginnings” students and instructors’ art exhibition was an ideal opportunity to mark the passage of this challenging time and what lies ahead. Besides, what better way to spend a drizzly pre-spring Friday night!
While the show opening has come and gone, the artwork is generally left up for a while and the galleries are open from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
