Explore & Experience Bull Valley

Welcome to the Village of Bull Valley, Illinois. Before becoming the Village of Bull Valley in 1977, a group of neighbors organized the Countryside Improvement Association in 1942.

The association was concerned with land development and had a strong interest in maintaining the large, low-development areas of land the area was known for. Reorganizing as the Bull Valley Association in 1977 and campaigning and ultimately winning a referendum on incorporation has allowed the Village to plan its own growth and continue its direction on regulated development.

Bull Valley served for a period as the home of Chester Gould, an American cartoonist who created the Dick Tracy comic strip.

Bull Valley remains an almost exclusively residential community and home of the Woodstock Country Club and the Boone Creek Golf Club.

Cornish Park in Algonquin stands out with its clocktower, view of the dam on the Fox River, and wonderful greenspace and playground for the kids. That alone would be great, but it also benefits from being in the heart of old Algonquin within walking distance of two other parks and

Riverfront Park in Algonquin provides great views of the Fox River, as well as a well-landscaped green space for relaxing. While the trees were still a little bare in early spring, the flowers were happy to show their colors to make up for it.
