Welcome to the Village of Bull Valley, Illinois. Before becoming the Village of Bull Valley in 1977, a group of neighbors organized the Countryside Improvement Association in 1942.
The association was concerned with land development and had a strong interest in maintaining the large, low-development areas of land the area was known for. Reorganizing as the Bull Valley Association in 1977 and campaigning and ultimately winning a referendum on incorporation has allowed the Village to plan its own growth and continue its direction on regulated development.
Bull Valley served for a period as the home of Chester Gould, an American cartoonist who created the Dick Tracy comic strip.
Bull Valley remains an almost exclusively residential community and home of the Woodstock Country Club and the Boone Creek Golf Club.
