Explore & Experience Lake in the Hills

The Village of Lake in the Hills, more commonly known as Lake in the Hills, or LITH, is home to the Lake in the Hills Airport, a single runway airport designated as an FAA reliever airport for Chicago O'Hare.

What began in 1923 from a few houses around Woods Creek Lake, grew over the years as a get-away retreat for Chicago vacationers, to year-round residents, until its official founding as the Village of Lake in the Hills in 1952.

While still primarily a residential community, Lake in the Hills has a prime commercial area along the Randall Road corridor and hosts the annual Summer Sunset Festival.
