McHenry ShamRocks the Fox Parade and River Dyeing

A festively frosty fun time for anyone who was willing to brave the cold. Which was certainly a fair number, at least for the parade on Saturday. It may not be St. Patrick’s Day just yet, but at least in McHenry, the luck of the Irish was already flowing, as was the green water. If you didn’t make it out to the McHenry ShamRock the Fox parade or dyeing of the river, you can at least enjoy the view secondhand from the comfort and warmth of wherever you are now.

While I didn’t make it in time for the official dyeing of the Fox River, we do have photographic proof that it did take place, as the Fox River was as green as green can be. And be sure to congratulate anyone you know who may have participated in the parade itself. Their enthusiasm and spirits were high, but as you can see from some of the faces, it was not a warm one!

My hope for McHenry Life is to create a resource and destination for the residents and businesses of McHenry County alike. A place where residents can discover new places to explore, fun events and ways to spend time, and then share those experiences with others. A place where businesses can connect with existing and potential customers, and not simply market their businesses, but share their own unique stories.
