The Crystal Lake Park District’s annual Truck or Treat is a beloved favorite for many, combining trick-or-treat with touch-a-truck. This year was no exception, especially with the amazing weather! It did appear to be off to a slower start, though was growing quickly by the time we were leaving…which admittedly was only a few minutes after its official start time.
We got there early though because, in years past, there was often a long line forming before it even started.
There did seem to be a much smaller presence of trucks and participants than in the past, even from last year, which was still a post-COVID recovery time.
Maybe it’s still a post-COVID thing, or perhaps there are just a lot more events happening. There are so many pre-Halloween trick-or-treat events and trunk-or-treats now that we created a whole new Trunk-or-Treat Guide just for that, separate from our annual Trick-or-Treating Hours Guide.
Regardless, everyone seemed to be having a great time as usual!
