Brush cutting season may soon be approaching, but there are still ripe wetland seeds waiting to be gathered at Kishwaukee Fen!
Join in this engaging, meditative work that brings healing for the ecosystem. Parts of the preserve require intensive care as they recover from the deadly grip of invasive reed canary grass. The seeds we gather will be broadcast this winter to help repopulate and restore these needy areas.
Also in store: seed prepping, mixing, and strategizing. Come for the important work, stay for the discussion and treats!
Meet at 9am at the end of Palmer Drive in the Village of Lakewood. Wear waterproof boots, and bring a snack to share if you’d like.
Hope to see you S
