Story: McHenry County NOW is proud to host a Black History Month Celebration on Wednesday, Feb 21, 2024 from 5:30pm-8:00pm!
*5:45pm will begin showing the film: Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America
A thought provoking film with lawyer Jeffery Robinson draws a stark timeline of anti-Black racism in the United States, from slavery to the modern myth of a post-racial America. *Note: Film is PG-13
Our celebration aims to educate and entertain attendees with the hope that we can have the necessary conversations, and put in the work together, to ensure a future in this country that is truly equal for all – A future that acknowledges and accepts Black history in this country as simply, American History.
