Story: Crystal Lake schools have been around since the late 19th century when the first one-room schoolhouse was built by the Beardsley family. Today Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 enrolls approximately 7,300 students and employs about 1,200 staff members within its 12 schools, early childhood center, warehouse facility, and administrative building. Deeply rooted in the community, District 47 is proud to serve the needs of its students and families.
