We’ve pulled together a list of the tennis courts that are available throughout McHenry County. This list includes both free and fee-based courts, as well as indoor and outdoor courts. Fortunately, many of the courts are provided by the great parks and recs departments across the county, so most of the courts are free to use and open to the public.
In addition to address information, you’ll find links to the providers’ websites so that you can check specific court information. We’ve probably missed some, so please be sure to let us know with the form below.

- Some studies even suggest that playing racquet sports like tennis can add years to your life, with tennis players adding an average of 9.7 years over sedentary individuals.
- Tennis provides a fun and engaging outlet for pent-up energy, helping to reduce stress and anxiety. The need to focus on the game can also distract from daily worries.
- Tennis teaches players to deal with setbacks, errors, and pressure, building emotional resilience and the ability to “bounce back” from adversity.
- Regular moderate-to-vigorous physical activity like tennis can lead to improved sleep quality and duration.
- Tennis is a social sport that provides opportunities to meet new people, build relationships, and connect with others who share a common interest. Whether playing singles or doubles, you’re constantly interacting with partners or opponents.
