Are you ready to strengthen your community bonds and build a safer neighborhood? National Night Out is your chance to connect with neighbors, local law enforcement, and emergency responders. This annual event brings communities together for a night of fun and food, and it fosters a sense of security.
By participating in National Night Out, you’re helping to create a stronger, safer community. This event sends a message to criminals that your community is united and watching out for each other. It also provides an opportunity to build trust between residents and law enforcement.
We’ve compiled a list of National Night Out (NNO) events across McHenry County. While most events are scheduled for the official NNO date, which is the first Tuesday of August, there are a few events taking place on different dates. Times also vary across many of the events, so be sure to bookmark this guide and also see the details links for those events that you are interested in attending.
At the basic level, these events will allow you to meet your local law enforcement officers. Many will include mini touch-a-truck-type activities and other family activities, while others are larger events with live music, food vendors, fireworks, and more.
Spread the word about National Night Out, and our National Night Out Guide, to your friends, neighbors, and local businesses. Encourage everyone to participate and make a difference in your community.
You can also learn more about the history of NNO and the parent organization, National Association of Town Watch.

President and Founder of Identity Developments, LLC, the parent company of the McHenry Life website. My hope for McHenry Life is to create a resource and destination for the residents and businesses of McHenry County alike. A place where residents can discover new places to explore, fun events and ways to spend time, and then share those experiences with others. A place where businesses can connect with existing and potential customers, and not simply market their businesses, but share their own unique stories.
