Guide to Ice Skating Rinks in McHenry County

Grab your ice skates and bundle up, but before heading out, be sure to check our guide for the closest ice skating rink near you. Whether you prefer a relaxing open skate or an exhilarating game of hockey, the indoor rink in Crystal Lake, or any number of outdoor ice skating rinks, you’ll find their locations and contact information below.

The ice skating rink guide breaks out the local rinks by city or village. In addition to addresses, we’ve included links to the specific rink or park, and where available, links to the Rainout Line. Not all ice rinks have a status line, but some do feature on-site status flags where a green flag indicates the rink is open for ice skating and a red flag indicates that the rink is closed, often due to unsafe conditions for ice skating. Be aware that many of the locations are unsupervised.

Also, be sure to check our guide for Sledding Hills in McHenry County.

All information is subject to change and we always recommend contacting the specific locations to verify conditions and availability, especially those that are weather dependent.
