The annual Algonquin Harvest Market helps delineate the transition from summer to fall. Or at least, that’s a general idea. Of course, weather is unpredictable… and that’s not always a bad thing. Summer was definitely hanging on this year, with bright sun and even a bit hot, in the sun at least. But with a nice breeze blowing through, it was a day just to enjoy being outside.
And that’s a big part of what the Harvest Market is all about. It happens one day a year, with this year marking the 5th annual. Consider it one part farmers market meets three parts craft (and other items), meets all parts get out and just enjoy the day.
And that’s what we did, and hopefully, you did too.
With a blocked-off Main Street, it was the second time in less than a month, after Art On the Fox, that we found ourselves strolling the streets, from one pop-up tent to another.
The Algonquin Harvest Market is free to the public and is put on by the Rotary Club of Algonquin and sponsored by a number of Algonquin businesses.

President and Founder of Identity Developments, LLC, the parent company of the McHenry Life website. My hope for McHenry Life is to create a resource and destination for the residents and businesses of McHenry County alike. A place where residents can discover new places to explore, fun events and ways to spend time, and then share those experiences with others. A place where businesses can connect with existing and potential customers, and not simply market their businesses, but share their own unique stories.
